Flag Ceremony
On the first day of school the entire Fairfield community gathers 'round the flag pole at 8:30am to raise the flag and sing the Fairfield School Song. Afterwards, parents are invited for coffee and bagels provided by the PTA.
Ice Cream Social
"Very first thing come one come all...!" Fairfield students, parents, teachers, grandparents and alumni come to campus in the evening the first full week of school with their favorite toppings to share. The PTA provides the ice-cream!
Spooky Science
Halloween is a low-key event at Fairfield and children don't wear costumes. Instead, parent volunteers usually lead ooey, gooey science experiments.
Cooking Day and Fairfield Feast
The Thursday and Friday before Thanksgiving Break is a time of celebration at Fairfield. After harvesting their garden plots, students spend a day cooking and then invite the entire community to a feast the day before break.
Winter Music Festival
All our student voices become one during our first ever Winter Music Festival!
Friendship Week and Valentines Pizza
The week of Valentines Day is spent celebrating friendship and honoring community. Valentine's Day is celebrated by making small pizzas for snack.
Read-a-thon
Snuggle up with your favorite lovey, friends, and books, for a full day of READING!!
Tha Auction
Traditionally held the last Saturday in February at Lillard Hall, the Auction is a celebration of community. This adult-only event is the major PTA fundraiser and everyone is invited! There are no tickets, the bar is free, and everyone brings a dish to share. Student artwork is on-display (and often for sale) along with live and silent auction items, and each family and grade level is asked to make a contribution.
Fairfield's Birthday
Each year on May 7, Fairfield has a birthday celebration. Some years students celebrate with popsicles; some years, the party is a little bigger!
Bike to School
Fairfield proudly participates in National Bike to School Day and even won the Golden Wheel Award in 2016 for having the highest student participation rate!
Art Day
Once the new Kindergarten students are admitted, everyone is invited to a day to create! From painting to work working, with jewelry making and face painting in between, Art Day celebrates the fun of art!
Sand Day
Right before the last week of school, students spend a day designing, building, and engineering sand sculptures!
Moving Up Ceremony
On the last day of school, the Fairfield community gathers to celebrate each student and congratulate the rising 4th graders. A potluck celebration follows.
Publishing Parties
Throughout the school year, students present their writing to the greater Fairfield Community during Publishing Parties. This is a beloved opportunity for students to make their voices and opinions heard, while simultaneously practice the skill of public speaking.
